I bought this jacket after spending some time in Iceland where practically everyone wears this brand. It is truly well made and comfortable, especially together with the Vik stretch jacket as a mid-layer, which I also bought here. It feels surprisingly warm compared to its weight; it will be a good ... Read More

The Polartech Powershield is some of the very best softshell material there is, and 66 North normally makes excellently-tailored outdoor gear that is both functional and stylish. I purchased this jacket for my wife (having the men's version myself already), and ordered her a size large rather than her normal medium. It is just large enough to fit a light insulating layer below, and thus fits almost exactly like a normal medium on her. The relative fits of waist, bust, sleeve, etc, seemed in normal proportions to me, but I would highly recommend ordering a size up from your norm.

I ordered this jacket in size S and it fits according to size (I'm 34"-25"-36" in chest-waist-hips). But I did notice that it's going higher under arms (which may be due to my straight broader shoulders). The cons about the jacket: (1) the hood doesn't have any adjustments to tighten it and (2) the fabric is stiffer from what I'd like it to be (I imagined it to be very soft, the way Haglofs products are).

I am an Alaskan. I need an all weather jacket. No attached hood! I couldn't see around it and it is dangerous. This jacket is too flimsy for a rugged outdoor enthusiast. Great if all you are doing is running in the Alaska drizzle in the summer. It looks cute, if that is what you are after. I needed a work horse. This is a concrete jungle (think Portland...I would have loved this when I lived there), attractive waterproof, windstopper. Not for under 40 degrees in any place. I sent it back, but I think it could be worthy in pac northwest for summer, easy, or colorado...spring, summer and fall. An okay shell, just not what I was looking for. Runs tiny and I am a tiny....normal sized people might want to consider a large. i would have been better off with a medium and i am a size 2.

Great jacket for cold spring weather! My favorite to use when taking the dogs hiking If I don't need a layer underneath. Very fitted, medium fits like a small. I'm 5'5" and 130 lbs to give you and idea on fit. I would have sent back in exchange for a large but they didn't have that size. husband thinks the tight fit is cute and it's not too uncomfortably tight so I've been using it and love it. Get tons of compliments, so if you want a stylish, functional, fitted jacket this is the perfect one.

I'm an XS or S; however, further to other reviews as well as 66 North's own size charts, I ordered a Medium. VERY STRANGE FIT! It's generous in the chest, fits quite snugly at the waist & hips, and the sleeves are almost long enough for someone whose knuckles drag on the ground! That being said, I bought this for function. In that regard, it gets top marks for durability, windproof & water repellant qualities. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for function, but with a big warning about fit.
