This jacket is an exceptional value, and quite multifunctional. It looks nice, but is a great performer in windy conditions. Casual style can be worn in a multitude of conditions.

Agree with the high marks other reviewers gave this jacket. Fit feels custom. Breathes surprisingly well. Thought the non-removable hood might look hookie. Actually goes well with what is an extremely well made jacket.

Montana cold crept in last week and I was wearing my 66 North Vindur on its own in -20-ish temps with no problem. Very impressed with the workmanship fit and style. I can't speak to the durability of the product yet but it can be summed up in one word - AWESOME!! I would not hesitate to suggest this as a fleece replacement or an outdoor activities jacket although unless it is cold you might find yourself too warm. Love it and worth much more than I paid for it here! I would buy it again at twice the price if I had to. Thanks Sierra Trading Post.

Amongst other outdoor activities, I bike to work year round. I live in Minnesota. Aside from maybe, MT Washington, there is no equivalent in the lower 48. I was using a Marmot wind-stopper fleece underneath my Cloudveil Goretex shell and it wasn't cutting it. I had my reservations about the Vindur since so much of it's material is comprised of acrylic. I bit the bullet based on price and the gamble paid off. This morning it was -13 not counting wind chill and I was sweating, which is a first to say the least. No wind leaks through the zipper, nothing. I have received numerous compliments as to it's appearance, but aesthetics really were an afterthought. My only complaint which really isn't a big deal is that the pockets are reverse angled which makes them a pain to dig into when you're hands are full. If you're cold, get this jacket.

I bought ladies Vindur jacket for myself last year and I'm very happy to find that Sierra carries it this year for men. If you are not familiar with this jacket, it's made of high quality materials and is very well constructed. The outer fabric is jersey (knit) and the inner layer (which insulates from wind wonderfully) is fleecy and warm. The metal zippers are sturdy; the hood has adjustable drawcord hem so it stays in place without problems. Regarding size: I'd say that this jacket is made in US (larger), not European (smaller), convention. My husband is tall and lanky (6'0" tall, chest size 36-37 and has long arms, 33 shirt length). I ordered this jacket in size S and it fits him great (just a sweater underneath). I'm also happy to say that the sleeves are not short. If you are looking for a good quality 'sporty' jacket for 30 – 60 F temps. go for it, you won't regret it.

I wanted something comfortable that could be used both as casual around the city as well as warm while camping; the Vindur delivers on both accounts. This works especially well as a midlayer or for less-than-cold days by itself; provided there is no rain or heavy mist. My only real complaints would be the limited room to adjust sleeves and the small chest pocket; I tend to pull my sleeves up while moving around; the Vindur is restrictive in this sense. The chest pocket is also very small; it's big enough to fit a few credit cards or small keys at best. All things considered, though, my complaints wouldn't offset me buying another one.

I've worn this jacket everyday since it's arrival in the mail over a week ago. It has blocked out cold air both by itself and as a layering piece. Last week I went skiing with it under a softshell and it kept me warm the whole day. I've received numerous compliments and even some inquires on it's behalf. In summary, 66 North offers top quality clothing that is unmatched.
