    I've been a fan of 686 for a few years. My last 686 smarty jacket was phenomenal - built strong, heavy-ish feel, very warm and waterproof. On a recent snowboard trip I hung it too close to the fireplace and burnt a [*] hole through the back of it. I replaced it with the smarty ballast, and just got it in the mail today.First off, sizing is right on. I'm 6' 180lbs athletic build and the medium fits perfectly. That hasn't changed from my last smarty jacket to this one. The kelly green color looks AWESOME too. BUT... the workmanship is a little lacking on this one. The jacket is pretty light, and the liner is so thin that it's actually see-through. It's got a lot of pockets, but besides the two kangaroo pouches and the chest zip for inner access, most of the other pockets are velcro - not a fan. I'll keep the jacket because of its great fit and cool color, but I wish 686 didn't go so cheap on their materials...

    I had been looking for a new snowboard jacket and saw a few in the stores that I almost purchased but I held out. I am glad that I did. I found this online and took a chance on ordering it. The day it arrived I was impressed with the attention to detail in construction. It blew everything away that I was looking at in terms of comfort, fit and warmth. The removable lining is a huge plus! You don't have to wear it all the time but when you need it - you can't beat it. 15K/10K waterproof/breathability is perfect for snowboarding. The only complain that I have is the back vents are hard for me to reach to unzip. Outside of that, this jacket shows exactly why the 686 Smarty line is some of the best out there. Get his now, while you still can at this price!

    The price was great. All of the common features and quality of a high end ski jacket. The zip out lining can be worn alone and looks nice. With the liner in this is a heavy jacket. I assume it will be quite warm. It will have to wait until the winter to try on the slopes.
