I looked for these boots long and hard By Blasted Heath Piper from Calgary, Alberta on 11/17/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Professional/Guide Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these quality mountain boots in the most demanding environment immaginable. This is mountain country, the great Canadian Rockies. The further north you wander the higher, wilder, colder and more scenic the mountains. There's no room for mistakes here. I looked long and hard for these boots. I don't like plastic outer boots and I don't like syntheic linings. Wool socks and leather lined is the way to keep your feet warm. Even when wet, they will be warm. There is a relatively short breakin period. Boots you don't have to break in will soon break out. I liked them so well, I bought two pairs.
By Jowillie from Napa, CA on 11/16/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: Difficult Laces, Squeak Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big, Feels too large Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good boots for rough terrain. Vibram sole traction design is great.
2 Pairs for the Price of 1!!! By Hiker from Portland, OR on 11/14/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought my first pair of Alico Tahoe boots last year for hiking and occasional field visits to the construction site. These boots have been wonderful and have kept my feet warm, comfortable and dry. The insoles are throw-aways, but with a decent insole they feel like heavy tennis shoes. The materials and craftsmanship are top-notch. I recently purchased another pair to use as soon as the first pair wears out in...like a decade! :) Happy tails!
