Alps Mountaineering |
| Dennis Brune started Alps Mountaineering in rural Missouri with one goal in mind: to offer performance-oriented outdoor gear at an affordable price. A truly homegrown business with a highly qualified staff, Alps Mountaineering listens to its consumers and designs accordingly, incorporating customer suggestions into their designs for packs, tents, sleeping bags, and other outdoor gear. All products are made of premium materials and tested in multiple outdoor environments—from the Grand Canyon to the Appalachian Trail—to assure that they are worthy of the company’s lifetime guarantee. Alps Mountaineering defines value not so much as "getting what you pay for" but "getting more than you pay for." |

By NVskifun from Napa,CA on 06/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Inflate, Non Slip Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Extended Trips, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for my son and it seems comparable to the Thermarests I've had. You do have to help it inflate some, but you can adjust the hardness. It's nice and long and I liked the non-slip material on the bottom. Now if we could just keep from slipping-off the top in our sleeping bags. The straps and stuff bag are very useful. Great price on sale. Not sure how well it will last.
Good value for car camping. By Every sport, any time. from New Jersey on 06/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable Design, Easy To Inflate Cons: Bulky Roll Up, Heavy, Slips Easily Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pad is great for car camping. Held up to a 5 and 2 year old jumping all over the tent. It is a little too heavy for backpacking unless weight is not an issue. The surface is a little slippery when used with a nylon shell sleeping bag.
By diego from bellingham, wa on 06/28/2009 Cons: Flimsy Construction, Not waterproof, Poles break easily Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This tent is a good price, has plenty of room, but I would not buy this tent again, as it rains alot in the pacific northwest and sturdier tent poles are nice for car camping.
