Founded in Vancouver, BC, Canada in 1991, Arc’Teryx set about to change our assumptions about how outdoor products are made, and created a veritable revolution in gear and clothing design. The company started by raising the bar on climbing harness design, then proceeded to make radical improvements in packs and apparel. Among Arc’Teryx’s many award-winning innovations are Watertight? Zippers, which repel unwanted drafts and moisture and soft shell laminates to lock out water. Today, Arc’Teryx continues to work feverishly - designing, crafting and thoroughly testing innovative gear and apparel for its loyal following of hard-core mountain athletes. ... Less

Excelent piece of outerwear!!!! By 4,000 Bagger from Keene NH on 11/13/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wore this hiking one of NH 4,000 footers on 11/11/09 temps in the 30's to 40's and it breathes extremly well, I was very impressed by they way it regulated my body temp to a comfortable degree. Great job as usual ArcTeryx.
By Jon from Park City, UT on 11/13/2009 Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The fit and finish on this jacket are excellent from what I can see. The cut allows for a good range of motion without being excessively baggy, and it could be worn it with a midlayer if needed. I'm 6'2", 215 lbs, and wear a size 42L sports coat. I ordered a large, which fits perfectly.
The insulation in this jacket is not as thick as the down in my Cloudveil Down Patrol jacket, which is approximately the same weight (36oz- 37oz). The Arc'Teryx is definitely more sleek than a puffy and weighs a bit less than I thought it would for a jacket with a goretex pro shell. I haven't worn the Arc'Teryx in very cold conditions, yet, so I don't know how the insulation performs compared to a puffy. Other reviewers (some not on this website) have said that it's a very warm jacket and probably too warm for conditions much above freezing if you're skiing/boarding. I think that's probably right.
As with a lot of Arc'Teryx jackets, this one has a limited number of pockets - two on the side for your hands (these pockets are fairly spacious), one on the chest, and one fairly large, zippered pocket on the inside. I think Arc'Teryx limits the number of pockets to cut down on weight and bulk - I happen to like their relatively sleek designs, but some prefer having a lot of options for gear when it comes to pockets.
Overall, I think this is a great jacket.
By Ezzie from LA,NM on 11/13/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Extreme Conditions, Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I kept trying to convince myself it wasn't so snug around the hips.....but in the end, I sent it back. I LOVE the color (subdued greens), the flattering design and all the great features. I couldn't seem to stow the hood in the collar without it buldging...minor issue.
