By Mishko from SF Bay Area on 11/06/2009 Pros: Compact, Opens Easily, Well Made Best Uses: Heavy Rain, Light Rain Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good to know this comes from Germany, the land of good engineering.
The construction may give it a long life. I ordered two: one for the house
and one for the car; and sent two to a friend, who normally goes through
at least 2 or 3 cheap 'brollies a year. At this deep discount, definitely
worth a small risk.
By Bill from Irvine CA on 10/30/2009 Cons: Difficult To Open, Slow To Dry Best Uses: Heavy Rain, Light Rain Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Larger than expected
Well-Made, Lightweight Umbrella By The Shrewsbury Kid from Saint Louis, MO on 10/29/2009 Pros: Compact, Dries Quickly, Great Protection, Waterproof, Well Made Cons: Difficult To Open, Inverts Easily Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: For years I'd had a Birdiepal umbrella -- the one with the fiberglass center rod -- and it worked extremely well, even in the heaviest wind and rain. This one is a different thing: telescoping and compacting, thus more fragile. The most annoying thing is that -- difficult to explain this -- the catch that holds the sliding ring in place to keep the umbrella open is slightly off-center from the hole in the ring, so I often have to move the ring around to find the catch. Other than that: a good, lightweight, quick drying and elegant rain solution. Would buy again.
