Well-Made, Lightweight Umbrella By The Shrewsbury Kid from Saint Louis, MO on 10/29/2009 Pros: Compact, Dries Quickly, Great Protection, Waterproof, Well Made Cons: Difficult To Open, Inverts Easily Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: For years I'd had a Birdiepal umbrella -- the one with the fiberglass center rod -- and it worked extremely well, even in the heaviest wind and rain. This one is a different thing: telescoping and compacting, thus more fragile. The most annoying thing is that -- difficult to explain this -- the catch that holds the sliding ring in place to keep the umbrella open is slightly off-center from the hole in the ring, so I often have to move the ring around to find the catch. Other than that: a good, lightweight, quick drying and elegant rain solution. Would buy again.
By Rage'O from Pennsylavania on 09/22/2009 Pros: Compact, Dries Quickly, Great Protection, Light weight, Waterproof, Well Made Best Uses: Light Rain, Sun Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I usually keep this in my purse--very light weight. Useful at sunny fall football games. I will surely order more to share with my kids.
By Sandra from Indiana on 08/26/2009 Pros: Compact, Opens Easily Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've carried this around, but can't say that I've needed it yet for rain. It's very lightweight and compact; has a well-made sheath for storing and carrying. I thought the shaft would be metal; it seems more like fiberglass or something. This would account for the light weight. Opens easily and is better for sliding into a totebag or briefcase than my other umbrellas. Better-constructed for the price than anything else to be found.
