A year later, Burton quit his full-time job and started what is widely considered to be the first snowboard factory, based in the living room of a small Vermont farm house. At the time, snowboarding wasn’t even considered a legitimate sport; but by 1982, Burton had convinced the Suicide Six Ski Resort to open its doors to these rebel riders, becoming the first resort in the U.S. to allow snowboarding. Burton has become the world’s leading manufacturer of snowboards and snowboarding gear (jackets, clothing and boots). Extremely good value. Many compartments. Quite spacious, but if heavily loaded, it's a bit of a struggle to get a 15.4" laptop in and out at airports, etc. Bought a second one for my daughter.
