A year later, Burton quit his full-time job and started what is widely considered to be the first snowboard factory, based in the living room of a small Vermont farm house. At the time, snowboarding wasn’t even considered a legitimate sport; but by 1982, Burton had convinced the Suicide Six Ski Resort to open its doors to these rebel riders, becoming the first resort in the U.S. to allow snowboarding. This jacket is great and comes at an awesome price. The zip in jacket has fetched me plenty of compliments at work. It feels waterproof and wind resistant just on its own. Also, the shell accomodates my very warm down vest (zips in just like the jacket that came with it). I'm just waiting for it to snow now!!!

I normally wear a large to XL size with a chest size of 44, but in this coat I definitely needed the XL. The shoulders in the large were too narrow for me. It's a great winter coat without bulk, it has a berber fleece lining in the body area, and thinsulate in the arms. Perfect for skiing or snowboarding, or just wearing out. The only thing it doesn't have is a hood, if that's your thing. I didn't, and think it's a great coat, especially at this price!
