No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a very poorly made instrument. When you attempt to focus it the entire image shifts! Needless to say, you can't focus on what you're looking at because the image shifts to a different view! Not that it would matter too much since the scope doesn't focus to any degree of sharpness anyway! I didn't expect incredible optical quality for the price--but I did expect the scope to function as designed so I could look at the stars with my kids.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this same scope a few years ago, the only one I've owned. Being a total novice initially, it teaches the night sky with the built in software and slews to the objects as well as stays on the objects (with user vigilence). Easy to learn and makes learning easy. If you've never seen the rings of Saturn, you need this telescope.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for my husband to use as a spotting scope for shooting. The eyepiece was broken on arrival. My husband is an expert marksman and said the eyepiece was so fragile that with normal use it would have broken with first use even if it hadn't arrived that way. Very unhappy, returned item.
