In 1946 five brothers who came home from the war established Commonwealth Home Fashions, named after their Royal Air Force squadron. Commonwealth’s window treatments had nothing to do with WWII, but a lot to do with creating cheer in the homes of the returning soldiers. The window pane design was perfect for the sheers to take on a more casual look and add a bit of privacy screen.

Everyone admires them. They don't come with matching tie-backs, but I'd still buy them again.

Unfortunately they do not block the light as well as I had hoped - I bought the suggested blackout panels but they did not hang nice or even look good form the outside. Love the curtains though. Beautiful colors.
