Flow may be a snowboarding brand now, but the company was started in 1992 by two windsurfing equipment designers. Flow’s founders wanted to create a snowboard binding that was more convenient than a strap-in binding and more comfortable than a step-in-something with a more "barefoot feel." Within a few short years, Flow snowboard bindings and Flow snowboard boots were being used by avid riders all over the world. The patented Flow Power Triangle is what sets a Flow binding apart from the rest. A high tensile steel cable connects the hiback to the base-plate, forming a triangle.
