It only accurately indicates wind direction when it is pretty stiff breeze, which is easy to tell as I mounted a La Crosse anemometer on the same pole! But I didn't really put a pig on the roof just to tell wind direction huh - it takes a certain sense of humour to do this! It is well made but mounting was not so easy as it is designed to go on a symetrical roof centre, which we don't have! So it was mounted on a flat 12 degree pitched slope with some carefully cut aluminium packers.
Expect to pay an additional freight charge for this item.

Well packed for protection, but not very attractive packaging for gift giving. Bought for gift swap but will probably keep rather than rebox.
Could be used with citronella oil on patio (need several for this) or might be better with scented oil for inside use since oxidation will be less of a problem if it is not left outside.
