Gregory |
| In 1977, Wayne Gregory founded Gregory Mountain Products in San Diego, Calif. Since designing his first backpack as a Boy Scout at the age of 14, Gregory’s soul ambition has been making backpacks. Gregory designs backpacks based on a combination of customer feedback and field research. Gregory always wants to improve upon fit and materials to make a more durable, longer-lasting backpack. The company has pioneered many backpack firsts such as being the first to build backpacks with different frame, harness and waist belt sizes; the first to develop a waist belt system that adjusts to fit different hip angles; and the first to create a center-locking bar tack. Because of these innovations, Gregory backpacks have been accredited in a wide range of publications, such as: Backpacker, Alpinist and National Geographic Adventure. |

Gregory Iris Backpack Rocks! By Hiker Girl from Prescott AZ on 06/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good padding, Highly Adjustable, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got this pack to hike into Havasupai this fall. I have been 'training' with the pack partially loaded on our daily hikes in the national forest. I'm very impressed with the ease of getting it on/off and with the way my camel pack fits into it. The side pouches are easily accessible for extra water bottles. I am looking forward to putting it to the true test this fall!
Gregory Baltoro Backpack - Internal Fram By Eric T from Chico, CA on 06/01/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity Best Uses: Extended Hikes, Heavy Loads, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very comfortable technical backpack. Love all the pockets and easy access. I checked out the newer version, but could not stand the colors. The older model is a bit heavier, but better quality fabric and finish overall.
By Gumper from Cottonwood Heights, UT on 05/20/2009 Pros: Easy To Load, Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity Best Uses: Day Hikes, Extended Hikes, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack for the price is fantastic. However, I had to return mine (under duress!) because the XS was a bit too small in torso length but perfect in waist belt. I'm 5'4" and measured 16" in the torso ~ about 1/2 to 1" too short. I actually took it to a store to have help in the fit. My suggestion is to go to a store that sells packs & have them measure you. This pack is for more serious outings (overnight, etc.), but for the price it is great for an all-day hike anywhere.
