By Animal from Green Bay, WI on 09/09/2008 Pros: Adequate Tint, Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Polarization, Good Protection Best Uses: At The Beach, Casual Wear, Driving Describe Yourself: Practical, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great value for a quality pair of polarized sun glasses. Although they do sit a little cockeyed on my face.
See through lenses, not good. By Blue Eyes from SF Bay Area on 09/02/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Lightweight Cons: Inadequate Tint, Poor Protection Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: When I first got these shades, i liked them. But the moment I got outside I hated them. The lenses are not dark at all and I could not wear them in the bright sun. To top it off, the lenses were see-through, making them unwearable in my opinion. I returned them.
Awesome protection from sun and wind By Hiker chick from Cambridge, MA on 09/01/2008 Pros: Adequate Tint, Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Polarization, Good Protection, Lightweight, Scratch Resistant Best Uses: At The Beach, Athletics, Casual Wear, Driving, Travel Describe Yourself: Career, Comfort-Oriented, Modern, Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We picked up a couple pairs of these as a Barnburner because they are polarized. This weekend, we hiked Franconia Ridge in high winds wearing them, and they gave _excellent_ protection from 50 mph wind and strong sun at altitude. The close sport fit works well for wind and to keep them on during extreme activity or just bending over and leaning forward. We each dropped them on rocks a couple times in the course of use, and the lenses don't show any damage yet.
We had one of each color, so were able to compare them. The brown has an amber lens with greater tint. Some people prefer this for driving or bright days, but it has a color shift. The black has a more neutral lens, with little darkening but good glare protection. We may end up keeping both and even ordering a 2nd pair of the amber lenses. Compares well to more expensive brands. Great buy!
