An introduction to the merino wool that would later launch his business wasn’t something the founder of Icebreaker expected from a 1994 meeting with a New Zealand sheep farmer. But when he felt the merino wool, he realized its lightweight, non-scratchy and washable warmth was a great alternative to both synthetic fabrics and traditional wool for clothing items like long underwear and performance shirts. I field tested it for 3 days of crutching around with out shower or changing the shirt. (No smell)
When I get off the crutches will be a great base layer for colder outdoor activities. Also saves on how many base layers you need to pack.
