An introduction to the merino wool that would later launch his business wasn’t something the founder of Icebreaker expected from a 1994 meeting with a New Zealand sheep farmer. But when he felt the merino wool, he realized its lightweight, non-scratchy and washable warmth was a great alternative to both synthetic fabrics and traditional wool for clothing items like long underwear and performance shirts. The fit is very snug, which is perfect for layering. I really like the zip up front. When zipped up the neck is not too tight which is a real plus. I do a lot of hiking and this is just the ticket for warmth, wicking, and comfort.
