Gerdur Kristjansdottir's everyday life has always been influenced by the spectacular landscapes of Iceland. So is her knitwear. As a very young girl Gerdur collected wool from the family sheep and transformed it into warm, sturdy sweaters that were sold throughout Iceland. Each one-of-a-kind piece combined her love of natural fibers with creative use of color and hand embellishments. I'm saving it for under the Christmas tree (I'm my husband's personal shopper for myself!) and have only tried it on for fit. I'm 5'4" 140lbs. This sweater minimizes the bust somewhat with the dark insets on the side. I'll wear it with a wool skirt this winter. The length seems true to the natural waist but is not long enough for the mid-rise pants that I wear.
