| More and more people are discovering the benefits of hiking with poles, and Komperdell of Austria manufactures some of the lightest, most technically advanced poles on the market. Designed for trekking, touring and Nordic walking, Komperdell poles not only stabilize your footing on the trail, but relieve pressure on joints and use 21% less energy, so you have more stamina for the journey. Very good for the price range By Shtinkypuppie from Torrance, CA on 06/28/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Flexible, Lightweight, Strong Cons: Caused blisters, Rough Straps Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are pretty good poles considering the low price. The straps are a bit rough and blistered a little on the first trip; I got a pair of glove liners and haven't had any trouble since. If you insist on hiking bare-handed you might go upmarket for a more comforable strap, but otherwise these are a good value.
By Rune Nordmann from Eureka, CA on 06/25/2009 Best Uses: Backpacking, Day trip, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These rubber tips last a long time even on pavement
These make my knees happy! By Fifty-Something Jae from NEPA on 06/24/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As a former runner whose knees are worn and torn, these poles seem to relieve a lot of the usual stress of uphill and downhill walking. Haven't timed myself yet, but I believe that I'm covering more ground in less time. Wish there'd been instructions as to proper length, etc., and I'm looking for the protective tips, but overall, I am pleased with this product.
