Marker got its start in 1952, when skiing pioneer Hannes Marker produced and marketed the first commercially successful releasable ski bindings. Marker continued to perfect his new binding system, and soon other ski companies began manufacturing releasable ski bindings. I have been very picky after seeing the Marker USA Barometer jacket I purchased from STP for my wife - it was really nice. I've been hunting online and at local stores for a similar quality. This men's jacket is light, durable and has some fit-n-finish (like a warm lined collar, taped seams, and nice inside pockets) that has really impressed me.
I wasn't sure how nice the hood was going to be since it is tucked in the collar and there weren't photos of it. It is just as nice as the regular hooded jackets with Marker's flexible but well-formed hood brim. I can see how rain could collect in the zipper area as another reviewer noted.
The only thing to watch for is the sizing seems a bit large compared to other brand's. I am 5'10 185lbs and the Medium is perfect. If it wasn't for an earlier review stating similar I would have been returning what would have been a Large for a smaller size. Thanks to the other reviewers!
