You can wear them anywhere. A slight step up from regular sneakers. They do have a stiff grippy inside surface that grips onto your sock so they are kind of hard to put on and take off. Worn without band aids they rubbed blisters on the back of my heel. It took about 5 days of walking around in them to get them to be comfortable,
