Patagonia |
| Patagonia is much more than an outdoor clothing company. Patagonia’s proactive approach centers on using products and processes that are least harmful to the environment... giving outdoor enthusiasts products that support the enjoyment and preservation of the earth and its delicate resources. Patagonia was the first outdoor clothing company to produce Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR®) fleece (made from plastic soda bottles) and began manufacturing their entire sportswear line of 100% organic cotton in 1996. Although it takes more time, knowledge and money to do so, Patagonia understands the importance of sustainable products and supporting bio-diversity and healthy ecosystems. Patagonia clothing is long-lasting, stylish and performance-driven to wick moisture, repel water and insulate during outdoor adventures. Donating one percent of sales to restoration and preservation of the environment and supporting over one thousand environmental grant programs, Patagonia is true to its promise to be "committed to the core." |

Timeless style and great quality.. By mom of two busy boys from Birchwood, WI on 06/29/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Good Fit, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the second fleece I have bought for my son. It wore and washed great. It is perfect for warming up year round as a single layer in spring, summer and fall, and under a jacket in winter. Looking forward to handing it down to other little explorers.
By Fred from Atlanta on 06/29/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Warm Best Uses: Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Not perfect, but it'll do By poplar from Flagstaff, AZ on 06/28/2009 Pros: Lots Of Pockets, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Extreme Conditions, Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I searched the internet exhaustively for a review of this coat but found none, so I am going to try to be as informative as I can for buying a coat in the middle of summer.
The fit is trim: I am 5'10" and ordered a large. I tried it on with a fleece underneath (the way I typically wear a winter coat) and there is not as much room for free movement as I would like. However, the added insulation in this coat might make a fleece pointless, but then could leave me to cold if I need to take the coat off but need another (lighter) layer. It's 80 degrees outside right now, so I really don't know. Without the fleece, the coat fits okay - a bit close (not tight) in the shoulders, and a bit short, but not enough to cause problems (at least I don't think). Despite the extra insulation, the coat is not bulky or heavy.
The sleeves are a bit long (they hit the middle of my hand). Not a disaster, but I am on the taller side for a woman and they might be monstrous on a shorter person wearing a large.
This coat has all the great extras, zip off hood with a soft fleece lining and draw cord around the collar. In fact, it has draw cords all over the place for a great custom fit. I bought this coat on a special so got 30% off of the sale price, so given the price I think I'll keep it, even if it isn't going to replace every aspect of my last winter coat that served me for 12 years.
My bottom line is this: I could go either way on this coat and would recommend a friend try it on first. But the price was right and I am keeping it.
