5.0 out of 5 stars. Great surprise

The Filson name drove me to order this. I bought a large and small in order to get the best fit. This is definitely true to size, although I have a Filson shirt that runs large. One might think that this is just another fleece jacket, but it is not at all. The smooth outside will prevent attachment of dog and horse hair, and the fabric overall is very substantial without being bulky. The jacket would be good for "going to town", but also quite nice for cold weather cross country skiing. The only suggestion I have for Filson is to add a two-way zipper.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Disappointed
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Iowa on Friday, April 11, 2014
I ordered this jacket because of the brand even though this one is not made in the USA as normally done but the price is nice. First STP sent me the wrong jacket so I had to ship back. Even though it's free return but a hassle. The replacement came quickly thanks to your rep. The color is what I expected. The material is soft and warm. But it was a poor craftsmanship. The stiches along the bottom seam are not even and not parallel. The design is not proportioned so the jacket made me look like I am pregnant. Moreover the bottom flare out not like the picture shown.
I went to two alteration services to get rid of the flare and poor stiches. It will cost me about what I paid for this jacket and not sure how it will turn out. So I probably have to return. Next time I'll buy Filson from its own website like my husband always does.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Like it

This is more of a sweatshirt jacket than a real jacket. I usually wear XS/S and the XS fits fine over at shirt or long sleeve like a fitted sweatshirt. This is not prob not the best stand alone jacket unless it's springtime here in New England. The arms were a perfect length for me, but I'm only 5'3". The bottom does flat a bit, but not a big deal. Doesn't make it look or fit weird on me.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Filson Moleskin Jacket (woman's)

I don't understand the negative reviews on this jacket. I have quite a few Filson clothing items and I have never been disappointed in any of them. This jacket is no exception. It fits as it should and is well made as are all of the Fison products I own. I am very happy with it and I think you will be too!
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Not Great

The best thing about this jacket is the color. The blue is beautiful. However the fit is curious. The bottom is quite loose and there is an unbecoming flare. The flare might disappear with wear but I do not want to risk it. The arm length is on the short side. The material is light weight and I think that dog or cat hair would stick. I am returning it.

One reviewer complained about the cost of returning this jacket. I am grateful to STP for having such an easy system of returns and to permit so many. I have ordered many many garments from STP. I have tried them on in the comfort of my own home with the clothes that I want to wear with them. I feel fortunate to be able to send back what I don't like and think the price of the return is well worth the the ability to see what things that seem promising look like in reality. Thank you Sierra Trading Post.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacket but not for cold winters

I am always cold but I like a lite weight coat that is warm because of arthritis. This coat was made very nice but not warm.
