Viva la Reef! The history of Reef footwear and apparel goes back to a pair of Argentine surfers, Fernando and "Santi" Aguerre. In the early '80s, the entrepreneurial South American brothers moved to southern California to start Reef with only $4,000 in working capital. The footbed is comfier than your typical plastic flipflop footbed, but there is no arch support and the soles are thin so I don't recommend them for significant walks. Also, the pink dye transferred to my feet the first few times I wore them and got them wet at the beach.
