Only for carpenters with no hammers! By Handywoman from Rural Nebraska on 07/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Nice Color, Washes Well Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shorts are comfortable and look nice for casual where. I was looking for a pair of shorts to wear when I do carpentry jobs though, and was annoyed that these have no loop to hang a hammer. My husband's work shorts has one. Doesn't Carhartt know that women use hammers too? After all, they are called carpenter shorts! Other than this defect, I like the shorts and will keep them.
By ladouglass from New Jersey on 06/18/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Nice Color Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I don't understand why it says to get a size larger. The size I got that I usually wear was a bit baggy (but I will still wear them) so I also got a size smaller and that fit much better. If you like a very relaxed fit then I recommend getting the size you usually do, but if you prefer a more classic fit then get a size smaller. Also, the inseam is 8 inches (it said so right on the tag) not 7 1/2 inches. Canvas, like a lot of denim, is a stiffer material (as one reviewer pointed out) but I found the shorts to be very comfortable. I'm sure I will wear both pairs of shorts a lot over the summer.
Give me just a few more open pockets By jgardener from Idaho on 06/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Nice Color, Versatile, Washes Well Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A few more open pockets for work tools would be helpful. Why do men get the only functional work clothing? We women work.

By duckrabbit from Charlottesville, VA on 06/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Nice Color, Stylish, Washes Well Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear these to work in the office in the summer, hiking, and will get a pair for painting and carpentry jobs too. I love having the option of durable light shorts that fit my womanly shape. I am of medium height and weight and have a hard time finding shorts like these that are not cut for dudes, ie. room for things I don't have and no room for the things I do have..
By All About Comfort from Washington, DC on 05/27/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Nice Color, Washes Well Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered these shorts because one of the other reviewers said she had a small waist and they fit well. I have a hard time finding bottoms that fit my hips, but don't gap in the back at the waist. These are great! They got even better after I washed them. Now they look like they are made for me, and I get the benefit of a few extra pockets. They seem to be good quality, and hopefully I will be able to wear them for a long time.
Modest Design and Nice Fit By trail runner from Northern Nevada on 05/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Nice Color, Stylish, Washes Well Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought one pair from the local ranch & home store and came to Sierra Trading Post to buy another two pair in the other colors (cost $5 less per pair). The rise is just below the waist and they don't gap in the back. The longer length allows bending over or squatting while working without putting your nether regions on display. The earthy colors are a nice break from the usual demin offerings. I also bought a pair of the long Carhardtt carpenter pants and the fit is the same. I'm very pleased with them as well.
