By Maggienet from Upstate New York on 11/13/2009 Best Uses: Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: When this jacket arrived, I was very happy with it -- it looked great! I'm normally a large, so I ordered a large, but it was too constricting. I bought the coat in order to be able to layer according to temp -- but mostly for downhill (and wanted something breathable, and large enough to layer. I didn't find this true to size, as once zipped, there was no room for layers, and it was a bit snug. STP didn't have a larger size in stock, so I returned it and ordered a Patagonia jacket, and the sizing was much more generous. Actually in this brand a large would have been sufficient with ample room for layering, but I'm keeping the XL anyway. If you love the Low Alpine Crescent jacket, suggest ordering up one size - it's a great looking jacket and appeared to be very well made.

The jacket is durable and will be great for fall rain/cold here in Wisconsin. Not for work-outs - too bulky but that is ok I wanted a good hiking, ride my horse piece of rainwear and this jacket will be great for that
By dab15 from Maine on 09/02/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Waterproof Cons: Bulky, Not enough coverage Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Hiking, Trekking Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The jacket fits true to size and is well-made. I am returning it for two reasons. 1) Won't cover your derriere when you sit down! That's an essential in my book. 2) Lowe has redesigned their hood and it is too deep and the neck too long.
A very heavyweight rain jacket By Neigborhood walker from West Virginia on 08/20/2009 Pros: Durable, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Bulky, Poor Ventilation Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for a light weight waterproof jacket. This one would be fine if it were a cool day, but not good for a summer shower. I was sweating by the time I figured out what all the zippers were for.

By BikerChick from Manitou Springs, CO on 07/16/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered a medium and had to exchange it for a small, it runs a bit big. I haven't used it yet in cold weather. It is a shell and you would need warmer clothes underneath in cold weather. Probably good on its own if you are doing aerobic activities (Nordic skiing, backcountry, biking, etc.). Fits well (when you get the right size), very stylish.
