By Grolydmd from Northwest TX on 11/14/2009 Cons: Itchy even though lined Best Uses: Casual Wear, Great for layering, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Practical Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Not cold enough for me to wear it yet, but I will with sweaters. I bought the large because, though I wear a medium, when I wear sweaters my coats are too snug. This one is true to size and with sweaters it will be very comfy and roomy. Because it is wool, it is itchy even though lined, so layering, for me, is a must.

Cute Style, too lightweight By anon from MA on 11/03/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Stylish Cons: Not Warm, Poor Material Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Practical Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I really liked the look of this coat, but I was looking for a wool pea coat, and thought this was, but it was partially nylon and too light weight. Also, the fabric picked up every little piece of dust I walked by, so the black was covered in no time. Ended up returning.
Great price for great coat By coat wearer from Fort Collins, CO on 10/29/2009 Describe Yourself: Practical Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If you have long arms, the sleeve length may be a bit too short. Large chested women may also find the chest area too tight/small.
Not as appealing in person By d.d. from Port Townsend WA on 10/26/2009 Cons: Irregular Size, Poor Material Describe Yourself: Classic, Stylish Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The waist was too short and too large as compared to the shoulders. Not nearly so long in person as it appears in the photo. Also, this is not traditional pea coat fabric: it is a very loose weave, almost like a cable knit sweater, that would not block out cold and wind the way pea coats are intended to.
By Nan in Nor Cal from Auburn, CA on 10/21/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Stylish, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Office, School Describe Yourself: College and Working, Comfort-oriented, Practical, Stylish, Trendy Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for my daughter who is both attending college and working and she loves this jacket. I compare it with my peacoat, which was expensive and is stiffer, straighter, and less feminine-looking. Hers has the nice hood, which is another plus. This (and almost any) wool jacket is somewhat scratchy at the neck, so I also bought her a couple of the fleece scarves, which are very soft and add a nice splash of color. This jacket is a nice upgrade in dressiness from a sports-type jacket, but is just as comfortable and has as a pretty, smart, feminine look. Might need to layer a wool pullover underneath for really cold days. I don't expect it will last quite as long as my peacoat since this one is softer, but that's fine, since that is what makes it more comfortable.
By Victorian from Merrimack Valley, MA on 10/20/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Stylish, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out Describe Yourself: Practical Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Stylish and great for casual or dressier outings. I found it warm and the hood helps with the wind and sleet/flurries.The style gives a feminine shape that I like. Not for wearing with a thick, heavy sweater but fine for a regular sweater unless you order larger.Looks and costs similar to what is around now but cheaper than some stores. I was pleased, plus I got it during a sale which Sierra has often!

By Nica from Santa Fe, NM on 10/12/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Stylish Cons: Collects Lint Easily Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Stylish, Trendy Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this coat just before a trip to NYC. It fit with everything in my wardrobe and was easy to carry. Perfect light coat for fall in NYC or here in Santa Fe. This may become my new travel coat. Buy a size up if you plan to wear a heavier sweater beneath. I bought S since I'm 5'4". Length was not a probem for my height.
