Korea on 11/03/2009 Pros: High Quality, Nice Color, Stylish, Warm Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: A quick line stating the true size of the product as it relates to the tag size would be helpful
By Big Ed from Alabama on 10/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Night Out, Special Occasions, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Had to return earlier one, way big. I wear a 44R suit and when a 44R coat came in it was way big even over suit. Sleeves long, chest was like a tent.
Size ratings are for the 44R.
Changed to 42S and all fit well.
Order a size smaller or go try on somewhere before ordering.
Lauren Herringbone Top Coat By Frank the Music Man from Nashville, TN on 08/24/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Nice Color Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I would have loved to keep this coat but at my actual size it appeared to be as much as two sizes too large and Sierra Trading Post did not have that size available so I returned the coat for return rather than exchange. I state above that this is a good coat for casual wear because as a causal coat the wearer may not mind the fact it fits like a tent.

By Light Brigade from Denver, CO on 02/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Nice Color, Stylish, Warm Cons: Needs a little wearing-in Best Uses: Casual Wear, Night Out, Special Occasions, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wore well in San Francisco
Good value for name brand By Spence from NY on 02/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Nice Color, Stylish Cons: A little rough feeling, Medium warm only Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Length: Feels true to length Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very good value for the money for a Ralph Lauren. The sleeves were a bit long, but my tailor took care of that. Otherwise the fit was true to size. I bought the long version as I will wear it over my suit. The fabric is not quite as smooth or warm as I expected from a RL, but it will suit it's purpose well.
Nice coat; a little too light By Cold Law Student from Chicago, IL on 02/09/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The coat is okay. I sized down because I normally don't wear any sort of jacket underneath it, but even sized down to the smallest size available (36S) the coat is still a little bit too big and boxy around the chest and waist. However, I always have this problem because I'm pretty slim and no clothes are cut for people with my body shape. A regular-shaped person would be fine.
It is decently warm, but doesn't get the job done on the colder days in Chicago (<15-20F). Also, the coat itself is very light and doesn't really feel substantial on your shoulders.
The material seems to be fairly good quality. It is a nice coat in general and will probably fit most people well, but it is more of a late fall/early spring coat than a real cold-weather winter coat.
By handsomemonti from Washington, DC on 02/09/2009 Pros: comfortable, Good material, Stylish, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Casual, Dressy, Professional Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this coat over suit jackets and blazers when going to work. I usually wear a 44R but I ordered a 46R to accomodate the occasional jacket underneath. The fit was perfect and the compliments keep coming. I wear it exactly like the picture in the advertisment, witht the sweater. one of my more rewarding purchases from STP...and I've made a few. I'm old school, and I remember when STP use to send out catalogs on recycled paper with drawings of the products offered.

By ipnyc from nyc on 01/27/2009 Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good coat that is formal and useful in colder weather. The material is very nice quality, fit is good, but runs a bit large. We exchanged for a smaller size.
