I am using them in place of the woolfelt clogs for the summer. My foot is narrow and the upper band therefore rubs against the top of my foot and hurts a little, but this is a problem with my feet and not the shoe.
As mentioned, order a full size up. I take a 7 in the Stegman woolfelt clog and an 8 in these sandals.

The design is such that the leather upper portion digs into the tops of your feet.

I bought these sandals and while they are truly cute, they hurt the tops of my feet. Those steel rings don't flex (duh) and my foot does. I can only wear them when I don't have to do a lot of walking--any more than that, and I'm limping.

They feel too tight and stiff (even after I wore them all day at least three times-ouch!) I experienced rub burns/blisters on the tops and sides of my feet where the straps are.
