By Science Geek from Portland, OR on 12/29/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Stable Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these to relieve back fatigue as I work on my feet in a science center. So far so good after a week. I initially experienced minor irritation of plantar and achilles tendon due to the negative heel design but once I got stretched out it is gone.
By Fifty-one and still walking strong from Fredericksburg, VA on 12/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Flexible, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A sneeker-like walking shoe with a funny sounding insert. This shoe comes with an installed footbed where the heel is about a centemeter lower than the ball of the foot. I also comes with a second insert footbed to replace the one installed, if you don't like the heel lower than the ball of the foot. I've been walking with the installed footbed (with the lower heel) and found it noticeable but not unpleasant. The literature that comes with the shoe indicates that the lower heel is better for your foot and leg muscles. Otherwise, this lightweigh shoe is much like a training sneeker.
The produce information in the Sierra ad indicate the shoe has a waterproof membrane which not mentioned in the literature that came with the shoe making me wonder if the ad is incorrect.
