Asolo (barely insulated) Boots By Summertime from Door County, WI on 10/29/2009 Pros: Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight Cons: Don't Breathe, Not Comfortable, Not Warm Best Uses: After Skiing/Snowboarding, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for hunting. I wanted a lighter boot that was insulated. These are very light...probably because they contain no insulation. My other pair of uninsulated Asolos are actually thicker than these. There is a fake fuzzy wool lining but it is very cheap and thin.
Overall the boot seems worst than the two other pairs of Asolos I have owned. There's random flaws and globs of glue slathered here and there. I don't mind the flaws cause "Hey, I'm from Wisconsin." But you might.
Size seems pretty true. If you plan to wear thick socks I'd go a half size up. Otherwise go with your normal size. Though it is pretty tight in the toe region. And the shoe is norrow overall.
I'm not too happy with the boot...but if you live in NYC and the most winter trekking you plan on doing is heading for a bagel in slushy conditions...then this might be the boot for you. If you actually need an insulated pair of boots I'd look somewhere else.

By haggler from cedar city ut. on 11/15/2008 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These are not to asolo standards and they are doing themselves harm by selling them under their name. Not waterproof
By Charles from Missoula, MT on 11/13/2008 Pros: Durable, Good Value, High Quality Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These Asolo boots are awesome. They are very light, the soles are well constructed, and they are very comfortable(after break-in). Also the boots have a large range of activities they can be used for, and this includes deep snow. Their wool lining makes them impervious to cold and make for a great expedition or hike.
By Jeanib from Montana on 11/13/2008 Pros: Durable, Good Value, High Quality Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My son wears these for his job which is construction. He states his feet have not gotten wet at all in the last two weeks since wearing these and it has been snowing &/or raining for the most part.
Runs small, insulation thin By surfosaurus from Burlington, VT on 11/12/2008 Cons: Bad Value, Expensive, Runs Small, Thin insulation Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm pretty disappointed at this being offered as a winter boot. It is thinly insulated, the upper is a traditional leather/fabric light hiker, and it runs at least 1/2 size small. Not impressed.
