By MBBOB from Conneaut Lake PA on 04/27/2009 Pros: Compact, Easy to Light, Great temperature control, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The previous comments about sharp edges are true, but 60 seconds with a piece of sandpaper and all was taken care of. Did not cook yet but it lit instantly and flame control was good.

By Sartech from Santa Rosa, CA on 03/02/2009 Pros: Compact, Easy To Clean, Stable Cons: Wind deflectors had sharp Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We plan to use this to supplement the mini-Weber we use with our camper. There are times it's nice to cook outside without hassling with charcoal, and with a separate burner. We were very happy when we unpacked this unit, because it looks like it will meet our needs. We noticed that the wind wings had sharp edges, but that's easy enough to fix.[...] If we were still car camping, this looks like a good choice to replace the Coleman+Weber combination we used to take.
By fly fisher from seattle, wa on 02/12/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The quality of this product is disappointing. I use to consider Primus a top notch quality manufacturer of outdoor products. This stove does not live up to that standard.
By Hiker chick from Cambridge, MA on 12/21/2008 Pros: Compact, Easy to Light Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We are fairly pleased with this purchase for the price. Haven't used it yet, just opened it up to check it out. Yes, there are cosmetic scratches, as expected. And yes, I agree that there are some sharp edges on the windscreens and metal pieces, so be careful. More than that, ours is tough to open and close, with the windscreen catches denting and pushing against the windscreens when closed. It almost seems like we'll break it trying to get it open, but then the catch lets go of whatever it's caught on.
I am expecting high quality cooking from a Primus, and I'm excited about the grill for camping, so we'll give it a tryout. If it performs as expected, it's a lot less trouble than grilling over the fire.
By sailmaker from Santa Cruz, CA. on 11/08/2008 Pros: Easy to Light, Great temperature control Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I believe the Primus line is full of great, well thought out products. Look forward to using this unit more. Starts right up and boils 2 qrts. of fresh water at sea level in under 5 min. [...]
By Mike from Wisconsin on 08/08/2008 Pros: Compact, Easy to Light, Great temperature control, Powerful, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is really well built and puts out quite a bit of BTU action. It heats quickly and evenly. I would agree with one of the earlier comments that there are a few sharp edges, but it's nothing to get too worried about. A lttle sandpaper would do the trick.
It's a winner.
An excellent stove - if all pieces there By Rob from Burlington, VT on 08/03/2008 Pros: Easy To Clean, Easy to Light, Lightweight, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an excellent stove. It heats quickly and cooks well, and the grill is a nice touch. The grill didn't come with a burner grate, though - check your package very carefully before taking the stove on the road! That's the only thing that keeps this from a five-star purchase.
