This is a useful size in a smaller kitchen-I bought 2 of these, one for my daughter and one for a young friend just starting out on her own. Great double duty gift. The quality is excellent- the board is sturdy, durable and the perfect size for use as a cutting board or as a trivet for hot dishes on the dining room table. It's perfect and SUCH a bargain. I loved it so much, I ordered a second one to give as a gift!

These work well for placing hot pots from the stove or protecting table from hot baking pans and can be left on the informal kitchen table to set down hot serving bowls without worrying about harming anything, despite having no raised "feet". I've also grabbed one to use as a cutting board, although glass surface is not best for knives.
