Great price for a well made skirt! By Rippin It! from The SE and Mid Atlantic areas on 08/11/2009 Pros: Abrasion protection, Easy To Attach, Rugged Best Uses: White water to 4 Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: First I consider myself more of a hardcore kayaker but i am not a competitor(Class 5er).
Skirt is well made compared to current industry standards. It works well in water up to class 4, have not had a chance to get in anything more serious. I bought a similarly designed skirt from a competitor and it suffered a large rip on its first use. Although kayaking can unusually stress gear each time, this new skirt has already outperformed the other. Did I mention it was also about half the price? Another thing to mention--it fits the larger Pyranha kayak cockpits great(ie-Burn L)! Overall great buy, get em while you can.
By mbhudson from Gainesville, FL on 07/28/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is definitely not the dimensions of 34x19 as stated by Sierra Trading Post, it is much bigger. It was way to big for my Dagger G-Force which has a 34x19 cockpit. Also, Sierra Trading Post currently has two whitewater skirts for sale the "Harmony Armourtex Whitewater Spray Skirt" and the "Wave Sport ArmorTex Whitewater Spray Skirt" although Wave Sport does not make spray skirts, they get all their skirts from Harmony. This makes me wonder if these two items are actually the same, but possibly with different cockpit sizing (even though the stated cockpit sizing for this item is obviously wrong).
By Scout Dad from Cocoa, Florida on 07/19/2009 Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: We bought this for my son to use at camp for a couple of whitewater excursions. It did not fit any of the keyholes properly, and had to be lashed in order to get a snug fit. Another kid that bought this same item did not have any problems with a secure fit. It was the same skirt in the same size for the same kayaks. Bummer, but it looks like we got a badly taylored skirt.
By Tengai650 from State College, PA on 05/01/2009 Pros: Easy pull off if you swim, Minimal water incursion, Perfect fit LL Remix XP10, Stays put in rough stuff, Survives rolling well Best Uses: Great all-purpose skirt Describe Yourself: Competitive Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: External bungie rand takes some finesse to attach, but this skirt stays on firmly. Perfect fit for my Remix XP10, and would be great for similar sized cockpits (Dagger Approach, Jacksons, tighter rec boats, etc. This is about the same as a Seals 2.2 size.
Not as good as my Seals rubber-randed skirt on my other boat, but stays on during rolling, with just a tiny bit of water entry, and for this price, it's a DEAL!
BTW, it IS the WaveSport shirt shown in the photo; not labeled "Harmony" nor does it resemble any current Harmony skirt model.
By Taracin from Monroe,GA on 04/20/2009 Pros: Easy To Attach, Rugged Describe Yourself: Competitive Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This skirt fits on my Overflow X and should fit The Wavesport Super EZ. I have used this skirt on a Dagger Mamba and Wavesport Godzilla. It fits a little loose on the Mamba and Godzilla but does keep the boat fairly dry.
Great skirt for larger cockpit rims By Guedo from Springfield, IL on 04/02/2009 Describe Yourself: Competitive Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Fits real large rims like Jackson Super star and hero-has special coating in high wear areas-looks great-good worksmanship-streatches well in realy cold conditions
By Flandlander from Kansas on 01/24/2009 Cons: Difficult To Attach, Poor rand design Best Uses: Day Trips, Whitewater Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this as a secondary skirt for colder paddling when I wear more gear and need a larger tunnel. However, I sent it back because I didn't realize what rand-sytle this was from the photos, and it is a type that is very difficult to get on and off the boat. This is not much of a deal over other entry-level skirts that are much easier to get on and off, and I'll pay the extra for the ease of use. The rest of construction seemed okay, but who cares if you have to wrestle with it for an hour at the put-in or it pops off in a hole.
By jimbp from Cedar City, UT on 01/22/2009 Cons: Difficult To Attach, Not Functional Best Uses: Recreational Paddlers Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Shock cord on outside of skirt is not easy to attach. The skirt did not fit my Dagger GT 8.1, 19 x 34 inch cockpit, was not taut when installed on the boat. The neoprene deck is thin and seems like it would implode in heavy hydraulics.
By unafordable from Wilmington, NC on 12/25/2008 Cons: Larger than stated size Best Uses: Rolling, Ruff water, Touring Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered this according to the size listed on the web site. It was way larger than stated. Not only would it not fit the boat I ordered it for, it also was still too large for my other boat that is larger than my first boat. IF it fits your boat, it is well made and looks like it would have worked out well if it fits.
By Roger from Chesterfield, MO on 06/24/2008 Best Uses: Hanging on wall Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Fit to boat is way too loose for any boat I tried it on(RPM Max, Prijon Taifun). I would not recommend this unless you have a boat with an extremely oversized cockpit.
