I ordered the 40 and the fit worked out well. There is a bit of adjustability with the lace and maybe that helps. The toe box is good and the overall comfort is exceptional. I wear them for work but will also put them on with jeans. Going back for a second pair. Unfortunately, the other JS shoes ordered in the same size did not work out.
I like 'em so much I bought a 2nd pair By SCVirginia from South Carolina on 11/04/2009 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Work Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are amazingly comfortable, & they are good-looking as well. This was my second pair of this style- it occurred to me to panic when I thought of my older pair eventually wearing out.
Great shoes but too small By spiper41 from Portland, OR on 11/02/2009 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Work Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes were very handsome, but the size I usually wear was about two sizes too short. I was afraid to try a larger size because they might be too wide. [...]
By JLG from Aberdeen, WA on 10/28/2009 Cons: Irregular Fit, Uncomfortable Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I've worn Josef Seibel shoes for years. These are the first to be uncomfortable. They pinch the top of my foot.

Very comfortable, not too casual.
Well made shoes. Not super comfy. By Laura from Portland, OR on 10/05/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Durable, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Work Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have problem feet so a lot of shoes don't feel very good on me. But, these are really not comfortable at all for me. There is no arch support and despite the air pockety insole, they just don't feel that cushiony. I bought these for a trip thinking they would be a good walking shoe, but sadly, they will stay at home.
They are well made and attractive. If you have normal feet you would probably find them a good value.

By AW from CA from Sacramento, CA on 09/28/2009 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel, Work Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are a simple version of Seibel shoes. They do not have the leather lined interiors or padded ankle collar like other Seibel shoes I have purchased. These are very basic, but offer the same comfort, sole found in this brand.
Nice shoes but way too small! By Janika from N. Carolina on 09/28/2009 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Work Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: It seems that the european sizing of the Josef Seibel shoes does not translate to american sizing. The quality of the shoes is wonderful. The lacing system on these particular shoes was not functional.
