I am not sure if it is the leather or the rubber on the shoes. I have worn the shoes twice and can smell them while wearing them in public. Not pleasant!

The opening is a little large as well, so the heel slides up and down a bit when I'm walking, but not enough to cause blisters.

They have the feel of a loose moccasin with the added stability of a ridged sole. Took me a while to get the feel of them but, I'm glad I have them. They're great for chasing toddlers.
