By GB from Baltimore MD on 05/28/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Daily wear, Travel Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: cute shoes but too narrow at widest point at base of toes, so I had to return
By JanDan from Georgetown, TX on 05/28/2008 Pros: Cute, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual, stay at home mom, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are so much cuter than I was expecting. Received two compliments on them the first time I wore them. They are a little uncomfortable at first - I wouldn't wear them hiking or anything, but they are great with jeans, capris, and shorts for everyday casual wear.

They are cute with a pair of khakis without being too casual.

By Joy from Denver, CO on 05/22/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Cute, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual, Stylish, Trendy Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love these shoes. I have gotten so many compliments on them. They do run a little small. I usually wear an 8 1/2 and that's what I ordered, but I would order 1/2 size larger.
Construction varies shoe to shoe By Alexandra from Alexandria, VA on 05/20/2008 Cons: Size differs shoe to shoe, Strap placement differs, Unstable Describe Yourself: Alternative, Casual, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Order two pairs *in the same size* and pick the one that fits best. Cute shoes but these must be largely handmade because they're really different pair to pair.
I bought two pairs in the same size in different colors & this is what I found:
1) strap placement on one pair was quite a bit forward on one pair which makes the shoe slip off readily
2) these shoes make your feet look a lot smaller (not always a good thing believe it or not!) The strap being so far forward makes for an odd optical illusion of your feet having really short or no toes (i.e., your eye infers that your feet are strangely proportioned since most Mary Janes have the straps near the ankle) ...along with the black rubber and leather outline of the shoe that already makes your feet look smaller (that some will think is a great thing!)
3) the purple is not so vibrant as it looks online
4) the tan leather is quite a bit lighter on the orange pair than the purple pair.
5) one pair was a bit shorter than the other
They seem comfy & warm & like they'll break in, but because the sole is relatively stiff, having a strap that is too far forward of your arch will ensure that they keep coming off, so go ahead and order two pairs if you love them and plan on returning one. Good luck!
By ShellBell from NC on 05/19/2008 Cons: Causes Hotspots or Blisters Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like these shoes, but they do rub on my pinky toes, causing me to either put bandaids on or risk blisters, this may subside as they get better broken in. Also, while they are comfortable (pinky toes aside) I recently wore them to a concert where I was standing for about 5 hours straight, and after about 3hrs, my feet started to ache, so I don't reccommend them for extended wear. As far as a cute shoe to slip on, no socks required, for light wear, I think they are a good shoe.
By April from Emmaus, PA on 05/18/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Cute, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love these shoes! I have another pair of J-41's that are just as cute and comfortable. Very 'strappy', celery color, w/little flowers on the straps. Gotta have 'em...!
I said 'true to width' but they may run a bit more narrow than average, but that's good for me since I have a narrow, low volume foot.
By Casual Mom from Phila, PA on 05/15/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Cute, Stable Cons: Narrow in toe wide in hee Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Will be great for just running around with kids.
By Trendy Traveler from Dayton, OH on 05/15/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Cute, Durable, Stable, Warm Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very cool shoes. I have received several compliments. I have a high instep so the strap bothers me a little bit, but is somewhat normal for me. They are not quite a cushiony (is that a word?) as my Keens, but very comfortable. They may be a little too warm for a summer shoe, but we'll see.
