His other Allen-Edmonds shoes are all 10D so I bought the same size for him. They were extremely tight overall and I wouldn't be able to guess if they were a half or full size too small in this particular style. They didn't have a larger size available for exchange. These are stunningly beautiful, classy shoes. If you can get an appropriate fit, you will be pleased as they are the customary Allen-Edmonds quality.

I'm not certain I should have done that as they feel a bit too loose. They are also a little narrow which may be why buyers are instructed to go up 1/2 size. I have not yet worn them other than to try them on. However, decent black casual shoes are harder to come by than brown or tan shoes, so I'm certain I'll keep them. The price was also very reasonable for the quality.

Not sure they all all that much grip, but makes them appear a little more contemporary than if they had a traditional leather sole. All in all, an excellent shoe and one that I highly recommend. Already receiving compliments.
