Casual jacket
By Merry Thymes from Indiana on 11/11/2009
Pros:
Durable, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm
Best Uses:
Daily Use, Outdoor Activities
Describe Yourself:
Classic Dresser
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Sleeve Length:
Feels true to length
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
A very nice jacket that blocks fall chill. It fits snug around hips. I like the longer sleeves because they keep the chill out and I have long arms. Fits well around the neck for blocking out wind. Bulky around shoulders so I ordered a smaller size.

Comments:
OK, so granted when the weather dropped below freezing, I needed some extra layers underneath, but I consider this jacket an amazing deal for what it is! Note that this jacket has longer sleeves, which work nicely for my exceptionally long arms, but for someone with normal proportions, maybe not as good. I'm spending a year abroad with this as my only warm jacket, and it's been great for hiking, city trekking, and sleeping warm on the overnight trains.

Its a very thin fleece
By SkibabeVerified Reviewer from Cedar Rapids, Iowa on 04/16/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons:
Cuffs a little big, Sleeves are a little long
Best Uses:
Outdoor Activities
Describe Yourself:
Classic Dresser
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Sleeve Length:
Feels too long
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I'll use this for hiking and possibly cc skiing on windy days as it is light weight and has room for good wicking shirt underneath. With gloves on the extra sleeve length and cuff width is not too bothersome.

This is a nice jacket that will serve many purposes. I will hem the sleeves and potentially take out some of the bulk in the width of the sleeves if I feel the need.

Best Jacket EVER
By soccer-lovin' momVerified Reviewer from Syracuse, NY on 03/31/2009

Best Uses:

Sizing:
Feels true to size
Sleeve Length:
Feels true to length
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
This jacket has all the comfort of the common soft-shell athletic jacket, but its more tailored, tweed styling makes it much more versatile (it looks great with jeans & boots, whether you're out shopping, at the movies or on the soccer field). This jacket inspires many compliments. I have the Small, and it fits me just the way I like; others may think its a little large-for-size: I'm 5'5, 115 lbs, and with arms fully extended, the sleeves come down @ 1" past my wrist. Its roomy enough to wear a fleece hoodie underneath for that extra layer, but its tailored cut keeps it from looking too big or boxy. I ordered the dark olive version of this jacket last fall, anticipating the wide ranging temps, drizzle & freezing rain that is typical to our area (upstate NY). Amazingly, except for the coldest snowy days, I wore it all winter. I love it so much I came back to order the navy version!

Not bad for the price

Comments:
While I agree with other reviews that the sleeve lenght is long I'm okay with it. I have longer arms and broader shoulders so the jacket just fits for me. For Mountain Hardware attire I couldn't pass up the price and figured I would give it a go. It keeps me warm and the wind out and I can layer under or over, or wear just alone. I'm pleased with this jacket and I couldn't beat the price [...]

Perfect for tall women
By Anne from Chicago, IL on 03/05/2009

Best Uses:
Bad Weather, Daily Use
Describe Yourself:

Sizing:
Feels true to size

Feels true to length
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Mountain Hardware is cut perfectly for tall women. I have a devil of a time finding jackets and this is the first women's technical jacket I have kept. While others may complain about the long sleeves, I am in heaven. The pit zips are well-designed, no mesh to get caught in the zipper. Waterproofing is very good - I've worn it in rain/snow/sleet while skiing. The hood has a great cinch - those who say it is too big haven't tried the cinch yet - and gives you good sightlines and visor.

Comments:
I really like this jacket. It is sporty without looking like traditional outdoor gear. I am small and narrow with long arms, so the design works perfectly for me. I would not recommend this to a more full figured frame as it might be a style that binds. I am 5'2" and wear the XS comfortably.
