Comfortable well-made & versatile By cmk from New York, NY on 10/19/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: versatile jacket - with liner and shell worn though, all inner pockets are blocked by the liner leaving you with only two outer hip pockets in the shell. You can get to some more inner pockets by partially unzipping the liner from the shell, but this could have been done better. Columbia is the obvious target of WS, and that maker has little problem integrating various layers of pockets into both liner and shell, though admittedly only in their higher end models.
If you can live with somewhat limited pocket space, you will find this jacket to be comfortable, very moisture resistant and warm. The reversible liner is a great idea, and materials and construction are excellent.
By retired from ann arbor, mi on 09/25/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I thought the interior fleece jacket was too small (for me), so, I returned it.
By fussy from northeast on 09/10/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Waterproof Cons: Inadequate Protection Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: There is a single zipper on the shell front closure. That means if the liner is zipped into the shell, the only was to close the shell is by velcro fastener - woefully inadequate in blustery, wet weather. The liner can be fastened but not zipped to shell - then liner and shell are zipped closed separately - provides protection but is rather cumbersome.
By JP the flyguy from Wisconsin on 09/01/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: used this jacket for a two week rafting trip to S.E. alaska. While the outer layer didn't get the full monty wet treatment, the inner fleece lined layer got pretty wet outside when worn by itself and stayed dry. No complaints, and a super value.
