By just mill from Canton, MA on 01/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Insulating, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Shovelling, Sledding, Tubing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought these for my 13 year old daughter and my 76 year old mother - both loved the comfort, style and "cushyness" without bulk. Neither one skis but have worn them for other outdoor sports/play/work.
With the extra padding in the heel area these socks also work well with clogs or "potato shoes".
We're all hooked on Smartwool!
socks feel nice but toes still cold! By lizaskibunny from chester springs, pa on 01/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Cross Country, Downhill, Freestyle Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Was hoping these would keep my feet warm. Did an OK job - not bad, not great. At one point during my ski day, had to go into the lodge, take off my boots and warm my feet by the fire. Granted, it was FREEZING the day I skied, but my toes were really cold! They would be more effective in average cold temperatures.

By NeCe rides horses from Papillion, NE on 01/03/2009 Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Strongly suggest that one would NOT put these into the dryer! One inch length shrinkage. Also, they are not really winter weight, not enough for cold weather, too thin.
