The bed is adequate in size for the dog (my greyhound weighs 70 lb) and the bed fits its stuff sack nicely. I got the one marked "round" which turns out to be kind of a dark mushroom color on the fleece side, a bit darker than expected. That fabric is nice. The nylon side is kind of slippery, as others have noted.
I agree that this bed would benefit from having a bit more cushioning between the channel stitching. Then again, that would add to the bulk, making it less convenient to store or take along.
The first trip we made with the travel bed in tow, I discovered that our hosts had a "guest dog bed." It was no contest--my dog went straight for the thicker bed!
Note that the instructions say to line dry, not machine dry. I suspect the filling would lump up in the dryer if dried with heat.

However, he's been sleeping on it at home quite a bit - even choosing it over his thick comfy bed! My worries that it might not be thick enough to be comfortable were obviously unfounded :) As to size, it fits my large lab fine. Danes, Wolfhounds, and the like would be cramped though.
