It is roomy enough for several cats though it needs some padding if you are going to have them in it for some time. It is sturdy and unfolds and folds up really compactly for storage.

But I wanted a way to take him along when appropriate without allowing him to move about the car. We recently used it when we went to a state fair and expected to be away quite a long time. We took the dog and were able to confine him but give him brief walks as needed. This crate met the need perfectly. The collapsible feature was essential. It hangs in its bag in the garage waiting its next use without taking up much space. Since this crate is made of fabric it is essential to ensure that one's dog will behave in a crate before use.

I use it to safely transport my 25 lb Dauschund/Chocolate lab mix. I was concerned that this product not being a 'steel cage' might succumb to his claws and quest to be in the front seat with me, but he appears content & rarely paws at the front. The unit has sturdy screening, heavy duty zippers- front & top, and a great carry handle on the end. It is lite-weight, folds easily, and has a great carry case. Great product & price.

Having looked all over the internet, I finally gave up on finding another of the old design and ordered one of these. Some sites show the old design but send you the new design. The crate is very well made, sturdy, looks nice in the house and folds up easily. Its easy to fit in the car when we travel. I also like the door in the top, it makes for easy loading. I can put two of my dogs in one crate and they like that. But the old one had a lot more mesh and therefore more visibility (they like to see out!) and more air flow. I cannot imagine why they changed it except that stupid people tried to crate train puppies in the crate and complained that the puppy damaged it. Duh, soft crates are only for dogs that are already crate trained. Also, the older version came with a nice soft pad that velcros in the bottom and this version does not have one. I wish the company would listen to smart dog lovers and make the old version again.
