By Realistic Dog Owner from Portland, OR on 09/20/2009 Pros: Easy Assembly, Easy to Transport, Effective, Lightweight Best Uses: Medium Size Dogs, Traveling wcrate Trained Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great for dogs who will not destroy it trying to get out. It is well built, but if your dog is going to try and claw or chew it's way out, then this isn't one that you will be happiest with in the long run. Best for dogs who are already crate trained to some extent.
By sam from seattle,wa on 09/16/2009 Pros: Easy Assembly, Easy to Transport, Effective, Lightweight Best Uses: Auto Travel, Large Dogs Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Our dog is neurotic when in a car. She chewed up her bed the first time we put her into the crate. But I'd rather have her chew the crate than our seats and seat belts. At least she's contained. For a normal dog I think it's perfect. I really like it. And its easy to open and close.
By BoomBoom from Hendersonville, NC on 09/16/2009 Pros: Easy Assembly, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I got it to put my cat in while we are away from our RV. We put her in it and she made normal annoyed cat sounds. Sat for a bit then tried to chew her way out. This cat can shred a flip flop, so I knew she'd chew her way out of it. I guess I need a metal crate for her.
By touringkayaker from upstate NY on 09/15/2009 Pros: Easy Assembly, Easy to Transport, Effective, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This crate sets up easy and is lightweight to transport. The ventilation could be better and I wouldn't recommend this for crate training a dog. A dog not used to a crate could chew through this.
We have already used this during a trip with our very active but crate trained puppy with no problems.
By cardenorr from Chagrin Falls, OH on 09/14/2009 Pros: Easy Assembly, Easy to Transport, Effective, Lightweight, Safe Best Uses: Auto Travel, Training Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I needed a second crate to help with house training and travel. I read the reviews by more experienced pet owners which were positive and persuasive. So far this is working well for me; I have not had it long enough to comment on its durability. It certainly makes house training and travel easier without the bulky awkward wire crate to maneuver
Great Price, Good Travel Crate By Sunshine Maui from Forestville, CA on 09/08/2009 Pros: Easy Assembly, Easy to Transport, Effective, Lightweight Best Uses: Auto Travel, Large Dogs Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My dog has discovered how to let himself out of soft crates when he really wants to so we limit use to when we are nearby as soft crates are generally expensive. But there are times when a hard crate is just too much hassel. If you need a soft crate this is a great price and a good carrying system (rolls up into a duffle- I like it better than the way other crates flatten to a big square).
By airjeni from Columbus, OH on 09/02/2009 Pros: Easy Assembly, Easy to Transport, Effective, Lightweight, Safe, Secure Best Uses: Auto Travel, Medium dogs Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wouldn't put a larger dog in this. My dog is 60lbs and it is a perfect fit. My other dog is just under 100 lbs and tall, and this crate would be far too small. I've traveled with it and it is wonderful. The only comment I would make is that the venting for air flow is a bit restricted for warmer areas, but truly not bad. I love this product!
By ACWilson from Dallas, TX on 08/29/2009 Pros: Easy Assembly, Easy to Transport, Effective, Lightweight, Safe, Secure Best Uses: Auto Travel, Large Dogs Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is something I should have purchased a long time ago. I love to travel with my dog, but when I can't leave him in the car or the hotel room alone it really limits my travel. I can carry this easily in my car now when we travel, and I can leave him in a hotel room without violating the "don't leave your dog unattended" rule. My only complaint is that it is a little big for my 50 lb mutt. He feels more secure in a smaller enclosure, but this was the only size STP had.
Great portability and features By Blue & Red ACD from Greeley, CO on 08/05/2009 Pros: Easy Assembly, Easy to Transport, Effective, Lightweight, Safe, Secure Best Uses: Auto Travel, Home Safety, Large Dogs Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have two Australian Cattle Dogs who total about 130 pounds - in a pinch they will both fit in this kennel and I plan on using it in the truck and camping. It is so portable it is amazing. It folds down and fits in a bag the size of a collapsible camp chair. The fabric may be a little stuffy in hotter weather but so far so good. Very happy with the portability, size, construction, and ease of set up. Four stars only because I have not owned it long enough to award a perfect five.
By Dogs are Family from Chadds Ford, PA on 08/03/2009 Pros: Easy Assembly, Easy to Transport, Effective, Lightweight Best Uses: Auto Travel, Home Safety Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This travel crate simplifies our travel and takes up little space. Up until this purchase, we were using our dog's airline-approved crate for travel stays in rental properties and hotels. Our dog, who is a very active three year old mix, is trained that her crate is her "home". We would not have used the travel crate when she was younger for fear she would have chewed her way out, but now we can trust her to hang out in this non-plastic home.
