By dogmom from Silver Spring, MD on 02/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Walking dogs Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have several very active dogs that I walk daily so I need shoes that can grip and be comfortable. These shoes have great traction and are wonderful when I have to pull on leashes in the mud. I don't slide at all. They were comfortable from the first wear. I love how roomy the toe box is.
Serious technology & comfort, but small By wine country woman from Healdsburg CA on 02/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These looked and felt great, but were way too short and I had to return them. You can tell the quality is top-notch.

By Indy Athlete from Indianapolis, IN on 01/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are really cool. Rounded toe is neat. I run, day hike, and do a lot of different activities. I'm known for seeking out a lot of different shoes to fulfill these activities and these shoes caught my eye! My friends are pretty immune to bright colors or different 'looks' of my shoes but these made every stop and go, "COOL, WHAT ARE THOSE???" They are really comfortable and have great traction. I read a lot of reviews from hiking sites and all are very positive. I did see a lot of notes about tearing/wear of toe box. Living in the midwest (and it being winter), I haven't pushed their durability, so I can't comment on this. Overall, awesome. The claws are unique and seem to work! :)
Like these out of the box By Hiker chick from Cambridge, MA on 12/16/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for strenuous mountain day hikes. I haven't worn them hiking yet, but in trying them on, I got that intuitive "this is a good shoe for me" feeling right away. I found them true to size for my wider, high volume foot/ toebox, but I haven't tried the adjustable insole feature out yet (so maybe it can adjust to other types also). The sole feels stiff enough to have some stability on rocks, but light and not clunky. The most interesting feature of this shoe is its "roll" from front to back. As you step and then push off through the toe, there is less need to bend the forefoot because you roll down and forward toward the toe (sole is slightly less thick there). It's hard to explain if you've never tried a pair of shoes with that feature, but the difference was enough for me to really want to try these out on the hill. The traction and sticky rubber seem like they'll be effective. These seem a bit too venty for winter shoes and probably aren't waterproof, but should be good for summer or fall.
