By surfgirl from honolulu, hi on 07/13/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: STP stated that a size 32 is equal to a "4" womens. I am a small size 2 and these were snug around the waist. I have seen reviews on other sites that said a 38=an 8, so maybe this was just wrong american sizing. I thought they would be stretchier, but they are a nylon type pant with just subtle stretch to them. Most reviews I read that liked them were not people who were using them for climbing, rather casual wear. If you size them right, could be used for either, but for me, to climb in warm weather I would go for more of a stretch material and a sturdier material for colder climbs. They were nice looking, but the velcro on the inside of the waist not comfortable. I just don't know many climbers that want snug fitting high waist pants. I prefer lower waistline. The material was very lightweight, and do not believe it would hold up on the volcanic rock in Hawaii. I am sadly sending them back.
Super light, super comfie By NP2 from Torrance, CA on 06/15/2009 Pros: Adjustable, Lightweight Best Uses: Climbing Gym, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love these Mammut pants -- have them in two colors, and also have the Talc capris. Fabric is very stretchy and comfortable, and is very lightweight. Fabric doesn't cling, allowing for cooling in warm conditions. Love the adjustable tabs with velcro that help me cinch the waist to get a perfect fit. Cut of pants very flattering on me.

By Yooper from Flossmoor, Illinois on 02/03/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile, Weather Resistant Best Uses: Outdoors and Office Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Pants with a straight cut don't always fit my classic shape but these are comfortable and look great. The inside waistband is adjustable but not bulky. I'm not a climber, but there's always a need for comfortable, nice looking pants that can go from outdoors to the office. These fit from the first, without any adjustments. Liked them so much I bought one of each color and a pair of the capris. The one thing that is unusual is the zipper/fly opens on the opposite of every pair of pants I've ever owned. Maybe that's a climbing detail?
I'll probably use them for kayaking, camping and hiking when it's not so darn cold!
