By Grannie-O from Arlington, VA on 11/03/2009 Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I spend a lot of time at home in a room that has no basement (just a crawl space) and is chilly at ankle level. This year, I decided to get slipper socks and thereby DO something about it!
Thanks to the other reviews, I got size 5/6 even though I normally wear a size 7. That is just right. The foot sections are still roomy, but they'd have been HUGE if I'd bought the bigger size. These socks are warm and the soles are a good weight and thickness for around the house. I could even sneak outdoors a little on a dry day. A WINNER!

By Merryelle from Alaska on 10/14/2009 Best Uses: Comfort, Home, Lounging Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these slipper socks to keep my always-cold feet warm during the frigid winter months in Alaska. These socks will do that--they are long enough to go all the way up my calves, and the knitted wool is thick, tight, and very toasty. They are comfortable as well. The thick foam padding in the sole is very nice, and also helps keep the feet warm. The size is what doesn't work well. I wear a size 6.5 shoe, and the socks were sized for "Women's 6.5-7.5". Perhaps the sizing on the pair I received is actually for men's, because these slipper socks are at least two (generous) sizes too large for my feet. Even when wearing a heavy pair of ragg wool socks inside the slippersocks, they flop around on my feet, and they are dangerous when I walk on them because they move around so much I either "walk" right off the soles or they bunch up in front of my toes and I stumble. I love how warm they are, but they will not work for my small feet.
By pancakeslim from Detroit, MI on 10/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Cute, Durable Sole, Soft, Warm Best Uses: Comfort, Home, Lounging Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I scored the brown pair in a half size smaller than my shoe size - was thrilled to see that the sock part actually goes to the knee instead of mid calf, making them even toastier. I love wearing them, and wish I had the perfect pair of outdoor boots just like 'em. They seem a good quality, and I plan on wearing the heck out of them this season - will let you know how they hold up! (*would make a great gift for someone)
By Likes Warmth from Louisville, CO on 10/11/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Cute, Durable Sole, Soft, Warm Cons: Knit too loose in foot, Too wide Best Uses: Comfort, Home, Lounging Describe Yourself: Style Driven Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are cute and practical. The brown and eggplant are beautiful (I have both). I used to purchase slippers a half size larger than my size so I can fit big cozy socks in them and these eliminate that need. It's been super cold here and these are keeping me warm. Only downside is that around the food they are loose. I wear 7 and ordered 6.5 - 7.5 and they feel too large.
By Happy Feet from Central NY on 09/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Cute, Warm Best Uses: Comfort, Home, Lounging Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are soft, warm, easy to get on/off. Size 8-9 is roomy for my size 8 feet, both in width and length. Socks go up to just below the knee. Color is a mellow cranberry-red. I got these primarily for traveling (easy to pack) but they might become my favorites at home as well. Acorn makes good stuff.
By Rakhi's mom from Kikrkland, WA on 08/05/2009 Best Uses: Comfort, Home, Lounging Describe Yourself: Style Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: In this case I'm probably comfort driven but, still, I like to think these will be cute (like Ugg boots are stylish, eh?) for wearing around the house on chilly winter days. They now await those days in the drawer. My only possible complaint is that they seemed a bit difficult to get on. Maybe that was just me and maybe there's a method to it that one attempt did not reveal. Regardless, I am sure I will love them. Go STP!
