Excellent Hot Weather Hiking Socks By Bob The Bear from Bradenton Fl on 06/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Design, Regulates Temperature Well, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Daily Use, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these socks to go with a new pair of hiking boots. Since I live in Florida and it is summer, I wanted socks that would not be too hot, but would protect my aging feet. These socks do well in the boots, and I'm pleasantly pleased at how comfortable and soft they are while protecting my feet and ankles from chafing while breaking in the boots. I am planning a week in Utah in July, and expect these socks to hold up pretty well for photo trips in the desert.

By Mac from South Central Missouri on 06/12/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The first pair I received were defective at the top, in that they were not sewn properly, and there was a small hole in one of the heels. Sierra promptly sent a replacement pair, but the second pair is only slightly better in quality. I am disappointed because I like the color and they are really comfortable, but they have some quality control issues and I probably won't wear them. My two pair are not what I would call "irregular", but are defective. Not happy with them and won't take another chance at this price. It appears from other reviews that other purchasers have had much better luck with them.
By Twin Mom from Galena, IL on 06/06/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The size large seems much too large. It's more like an extra large. Otherwise, they appear to be well constructed and are comfortable.

Well padded sock for a lot of walking By JohnH from Tehachapi, CA on 05/29/2009 Best Uses: Backpacking, Daily Use, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Flaws as seconds were not minor in nature in some cases. One pair had a hole completely through heel and poorly sewn. Found flaws in a couple of pair that would quickly make the socks unwearable. Another M was more like an L or XL in size. Flaws like missing logos sewn in and other manufacturing flaws were rather obvious but otherwise usable. Comfortable but check carefully first.
