Gore-Tex jacket performs as expected By Rugged Ron from Wilmington DE on 03/15/2010 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight Cons: zipper can be a pain, Zipper is left handed Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Summer Motorcycling, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my 2nd Gore-Tex jacket. The first was very durable (about 25 yr life)and I expect this one to be the same. This particular jacket is unlined so it is best suited for warm weather only. It is bone dry on the inside in wet weather. Stains (like grease) will come out in laundry. The only negatives are that it is very stiff, especially around the neck, but I am hoping that it wears in after some use. The zipper is left-handed and I do struggle with that.
super lightweight but strong shell By rain country from Cosmopolis. WA on 03/02/2010 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Skiing/Snowboarding, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Fabric is very lightweight but not a "lightweight" gore tex material. The Great thing about this jacket is just how flexible it is. You can wear it for all four seasonsm its comfortable to wear alone and isn't so form fitting that you can't layer well underneath. Lack of an inside or breast pocket is my only gripe but provided pockets are large and handy.
By jj from Micronesia on 02/25/2010 Pros: Comfortable, Windproof Describe Yourself: Professional/Guide Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: For a Gortex jacket, can't beat the price. The fit is excellent and the color is good. I bought this to use as a replacement for extreme weather field events during prolonged field research trips. Basically i will sit in my field pack unless needed. First time I wore it was driving the motorcyle home from field work at 1AM with a light rain falling. No complaints. Its definitely wind proof and seals up nicely. Zipper sucks, but I can live with it. I am glad the hood rolls up so there is not another zipper to deal with.

I'm a bit underwhelmed by the quality. But the price was decent, so no complaints here.

U just cant beat Gore-Tex! By Anvil Devil from Flagstaff, AZ on 01/26/2010 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I spent 5 days last week shoveling 4 feet of snow in blizzard conditions in Flagstaff, Az and not one drop of water made it through this jacket. I was a little disappointed with the pocket set up, no extra and the the straps on the cuffs don't stay "strapped" with plastic ends, and it needs a true "pocket" to store the hood in collar. Over all, if you want to stay dry, strongly consider this jacket
