Great socks. Bought 5 pair...again! By Red Rock Runner from Sedona, AZ on 10/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Design, Regulates Temperature Well Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: For years I have trusted SmartWool as my #1 brand for winter socks. Now that it was time to purchase some more, I immediately chose this brand and style.
I have had SmartWool's "ski racer" socks in the past and enjoy the extra cushioning at the soles and shins. I use these socks for regular wear (not as ski socks) and like that the thicker shin area adds insulation. The fit is tight enough to keep these socks up all day and helps keep my muscles warmer than loose socks.
All in all, these are a great choice. Any of SmartWool's dozens of styles would be a good choice. For me, I stuck with a style that already works when deciding to buy socks again.
